May 2026 Newsletter

Dear Wolverine Families,

In April, we participated in Earth Month, began our junior basketball seasons, and received new equipment to enhance play options at recess. Who knew whiffle ball and sidewalk chalk were going to be the hot ticket items! In April we hosted our annual Equity Arts Night and welcomed almost 300 visitors to the school. It was wonderful to see so many families join us to view the displays and artifacts that capture students learning about diversity, equity and inclusion. If you missed it, there are some photos of the event posted on our HT Facebook page.

We’ve done Come Grow with Us (2024) and Come Play with Us (2025), and this year we are inviting you to “Come Build with Us” on May 21st, 4-6pm. We will have community partners to build connections, math games to build our number sense, STEAM kits to build electrical and mechanical sets, and Mud Kitchen kits to build for outdoor play. We would love to BUILD with you!

One last tidbit from School Council - At our June 4th Family Fun Night – we will have yard sale spaces available to purchase ($25 a plot) to host a community yard sale. You can bring your previously loved treasures to sell at the event. All of your profits from your sales are yours to keep! Any textiles you don’t sell and don’t want to take home can be left in our Kidney Clothes donation area. The final Kidney Clothes donation drop off at Harriett Todd will take place June, 1st – 8th.

Kindly,

Elaine

Drop off and Pick Up Reminder

Students are to be dropped off and picked up at the gates on the EAST side of the tarmac (the side closest to Westmount Rd). The gate at the WEST side of the school is for students who arrive by bus or those with precoordinated alternative arrangements. Parents/Guardians who accompany students to and from school, please walk down the EAST side of the school to drop off and pick up. This helps us to coordinate the flow of 500+ people. Thank you!

Stay all day! Dismissal is at 3:35pm. In the event your child needs to be picked up early (appointment, event) email [email protected] with your child's name, teachers name, and the time of pickup before NOON; Office staff will ensure the teacher is informed and your child signed out.

Please avoid calling the office last minute as interruptions in the classroom negatively impact the learning of our students. Calls after 3pm will not be accepted. Please make after school arrangements with your child before school starts, or send [email protected] an email before noon. There are no early pick-ups between 3:00-3:35. **There are a few families with modified days who pick up at 3:15 pm. This is preplanned and part of specialized programming. Students without specialized programming should stay until dismissal at 3:35 pm.
